Our Seeds of Promise program offers free classes for members of the community to teach them how to grow vegetables and eat more healthy on a daily basis. This spring we are adding our larger community garden which will be a learning space for those in our classes. The food grown in the beds will be donated to Hearts and Hands of Baytown.
This Tuesday, March 12th from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm we will be painting those beds with a food safe milk paint to protect the wood and add some fun color to the garden. If you're looking for a quick & fun volunteer opportunity this will be perfect! Tuesday's weather looks amazing.
Snacks and water will be provided. We will supply gloves and all of the painting supplies. The milk paint has a slight odor, so you may wish to bring a mask.
We are located next door to the Eddie V Gray Wetlands Center (across the street from Lee High School) at 1724 1/2 Market St, Baytown, Tx 77520.
