At United Way, we believe literacy opens doors to opportunity, imagination, and lifelong learning. Our Little Free Libraries are community treasures—small but mighty hubs that provide free books to children, families, and neighbors across Baytown.
This project will bring volunteers together to refresh and restock three Little Free Libraries serving central Baytown neighborhoods:
-
Bay Area Homeless Services (3406 Wisconsin St.)
-
Missouri St Church of Christ (3400 S Highway 146)
-
Carver Elementary (610 S. Pruett St.)
Your tasks may include:
Cleaning and painting library boxes to keep them safe and inviting
Adding a protective sealant to withstand the weather
Restocking shelves with donated books for all ages
Beautifying the surrounding area to make each site a welcoming stop for readers
