Who We Are
Baytown is a great place to live and work where people can truly make a difference in their community. The City of Baytown is committed to empowering citizens, building the community, and enriching lives.
In April 2022, the City of Baytown launched Baytown Serves, a City initiative that develops opportunities, matches volunteers with projects, and promotes global and local nonprofits to spread the culture of service in our community. Join the movement - visit www.BaytownEngage.com/Serve!

- Baytown Tourism: The Heart of Baytown Volunteers/Docents will act as guides for visitors to the Brunson Theater, teaching about Baytown history and providing Baytown recommendations.
- Sterling Municipal Library Teen Volunteers: Teens, age 13-18, can help create displays, put together takeaway crafts and programs, and even decorate for events.
- Baytown Police Department: Volunteers, ages 18+, can learn more about the police department and actively serve as a volunteer in the community through opportunities such as the Citizens Police Academy, Citizens on Patrol, and more!
- Baytown Fire Department: Get more involved in public safety by joining the volunteer Community Emergency Response Team, training to the general public and residents about disaster preparedness, response skills, and fire safety, or the Baytown Fire Explorers, career training and development in the Fire and EMS industry for individuals ages 14-20 as part of a partnership with the Boy Scouts of America.
Environmental and Animals
- Baytown Nature Center & Wetlands and Education Center: Volunteers will be leading field trips, teaching programs, and assisting with events.
