Who We Are
Texas CASA is the statewide association for the 72 local CASA programs. Liberty/Chambers County works to connect each part of the CASA community and empower the local programs to perform at their highest level. At the local level, the programs recruit, train and supervise Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers to advocate for children involved in the child welfare system and improve their well-being At the state level, Texas CASA provides financial support, training and services to help the local programs operate effectively.
What We Do
When a family is in crisis, and becomes involved in the child welfare system, a CASA volunteer may be appointed by a judge to advocate for the child. This highly trained volunteer is someone from the child's community whose responsibility is to get to know the child and their family and advocate for their safety, permanency and well-being while in foster care. This is just one example of the difference a CASA volunteer can make in a child's life.
