Hill of Rest Cemetery has lost their funding for maintaining the landscaping. The cemetery relies on community involvement to maw the area.  Please bring your mowers, weedeaters, and loppers.

We will be delivering Doorstep Blessings at Edison Courts Apartment. Please be able to lift 40lbs. We will meet at Hearts and Hands Pantry for loading food then drive to Edison Courts.

We will be cleaning up the shoreline at Bayland Park. There is lots of trash that washes up on the shore and this park is a popular spot. Please help us in the clean up of this area. We will meet at the Bayland Park pavilion area near the dock.

Elderly and disabled people are in need of cleaning and hygiene products. We plan to start delivering these needs on a monthly basis. We are also actively looking for people to sign up.

Elderly and disabled people are on a fixed income and often do without essential needs. We are trying to fix that.

Help in the Baytown Habitat Office, some of the duties include but are not limited to:

We will be working on our newest home. There are many tasks to complete, including but not limited to hanging dry wall, installing doors and windows, painting, installing flooring and framing the home. This is a continuous project that will be worked on until completion.

Volunteer Opportunity: Clothing for Kids – Tidy Up & Organize

Help us support local children by keeping the Clothing for Kids program organized and welcoming. Volunteers are needed to assist with tidying and organizing clothing and supplies so families can be served efficiently and with care.

Tasks may include sorting and organizing clothing by size or category, straightening shelves and racks, labeling bins, and general clean-up of the space. No special skills are required—just a positive attitude and a willingness to help.

Your time and support make a meaningful difference by helping ensure children in our community have access to clean, well-organized clothing when they need it most.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free, reliable tax preparation to individuals and families in our community. We’re looking for volunteers who want to make a difference this tax season! No experience? No problem! We'll connect you to free IRS training and certification so you'll be ready to serve.

At Harbor Hospice, we know the journey through a life-limiting illness is easier when shared. Our volunteers are the compassionate heroes who offer the invaluable gifts of companionship, comfort, and respite. By simply sitting with a patient, sharing a story, or holding a hand, you offer profound peace and support during life's most important moments.

We currently care for a wonderful community of 95 to 115 patients in the Baytown area every month, and we need compassionate hearts to keep that kindness flowing!

We are specifically seeking dedicated individuals for two of our most critical, high-impact roles:

Companion & Friend: Offer friendship, conversation, and emotional support to patients, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and valued. This time is for listening, sharing silence, or enjoying light activities.

The Respite Angel: Provide a necessary and often life-changing break for tired caregivers. By sitting with a patient for a set period, you allow a family member time to rest, run errands, or simply recharge.

Commitment? Totally flexible! We work with your schedule. Whether you have an hour or two a week, let's make it happen.

Training? Absolutely! You'll receive full support and specialized training to feel confident and ready to go.

Where? You will serve patients in their own homes and long-term care facilities throughout the Baytown area.

Bridgehaven CAC is seeking detail-oriented volunteers to assist with data entry. Volunteers will help input information into our secure system to support program tracking and reporting. Accuracy and confidentiality are essential. Training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization and behind-the-scenes work that makes a big impact.

The Events Committee is a group dedicated to planning and executing a series of events aimed at raising funds, engaging the community, and supporting United Way’s mission. You will play a key role in ensuring the success of these events through contributing your time, creativity, and passion. This will be a key year as we launch our inaugural United for Good Gala, our new signature fundraising event.

Core Responsibilities
• Play a hands-on role in developing events and executing them the day-of.
• Be a United Way ambassador and familiarize yourself with our mission and brand.
• Participate in regular committee meetings and event workday sessions.
• Participate in post-event evaluations and identify areas for improvement.
• Volunteer at all United Way event functions and meetings, when possible.

Helping Clients Get Their Food

Our pantry is in real need of volunteers to help serve our neighbors.

We are a client-choice food pantry. That means that when people visit us, they get to see the food items we have available and pick out what they want and can use. We have recently gone to a one-day-a-week service on Thursdays, from 9:00 AM to 12:30  PM and we need your hel. People come to us with appointments, and we register and escort them through the fully stocked pantry to choose from among fresh produce, frozen meats, canned goods, bread and desserts, deli-style foods, and many other items. Each client gets someone to guide them through and assist with their choices, as well as get them out the door to their car or other transportation. We need a team of 6-10 people to greet clients with a hospitable smile and an eager attitude, sharing information about the pantry and how they can take advantage. If you like helping people and lifting their spirits with assistance, help us serve the food security needs of Baytown. Volunteers ARE Super Heroes!

If you want to experience what it's like to be a Super Hero, join us at our CAPE Club after school program. CAPE Club is Child and Parent Education activities and is from August - May each school year.  

✨ Volunteers help on a regular basis (weekly or monthly) assisting child & parent (under our guidance) with learning stations (Art, Music, Reading, Math, Science). Volunteers should commit to a minimum of 1 time per month. Once your approved you will be able to sign up for specific dates that you are available on:

e are looking for someone to perform a thorough deep cleaning of our administrative office. This includes detailed cleaning of common areas, offices, and high-touch surfaces to ensure a clean and professional environment.

The volunteer videographer uses a personal cell phone to develop a series of short videos to be used for agency promotional purposes. The number of videos will be determined by a mutual understanding between the volunteer and agency staff, but not less than three during the summer of 2025. The volunteer must sign a professional confidentiality agreement due to the nature of our reponsibilities to our residents. The volunteer must be familiar with the operation of the phone and video editing programs to be used.

The volunteer intake screener follows up initial phone inquiries for homeless shelter services. The initial BAHS contact is made by a phone call to an automated phone inquiry line. The volunteer then calls the potential client and develops an eligibility profile which will be used to select new residents for shelter and services.

We are seeking volunteers to assist with reaching out to clients to administer feedback surveys. This role requires a background check, an interview, and a signed confidentiality agreement. Volunteers will collaborate closely with our Family Advocates to create a list of clients to contact. Additionally, volunteers will participate in an orientation to become familiar with our services and receive training on effectively communicating with clients.

We are seeking assistance with yard maintenance at our administrative office. Specifically, we have an overgrown bush that needs to be trimmed or removed, and we'd appreciate help addressing it.

While this task may seem routine, it plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and confidentiality that are critical to the services we provide. The role of the Sheltering Service Associate - is to serve as a member of a temporary work unit on a disaster relief operation to successfully complete their assigned areas of responsibility on a disaster relief operation. They ensure safe sheltering at a single shelter throughout the cycle of the disaster.

Baytown and Chambers County Disaster Recovery Team might be on standby, but recruiting volunteers to help support the community when disaster strikes is ongoing. Disasters can hit our community at any time. Whether fires, hurricanes, flooding, or any other kind of disaster, we need volunteers ready to mobilize when the need arises. You will be contacted, if volunteers are needed for any projects related to disaster recovery. Duties may include providing immediate shelter protection (tarps), trash/debris clean up, mucking & gutting of homes, packing assistance, and other activities as determined by needs of the community. Baytown Meals on Wheels is need for a backup driver on the days that our Drivers are not available. We need someone to be on standby to fill in to run a route on the days our regular drivers are not available. Delivery pick u times are from 10:30-1:30.  ( contract Labor paid Position)

FOOD PICKUP AT HEARTS AND HANDS

Two mornings a week, our joyful food pick-up team meets to take delivery of food from the Houston Food Bank. We meet at HEARTS AND HANDS, 301 Cedar Bayou Road, load the boxes and pallets of food from the HFB truck into our van and trucks, and take it to the Missouri Street Pantry.

We need strong people who can volunteer two-four morning a month, joining our jovial bunch of Early Birds.

We help low income students and working families with child care by providing scholarships in order to significantly reduce the amount the parent pays. We also provide a top notch curriculum (Frog Street) that ensures these children are ready for kindergarten.

Disaster Health Services (DHS) Service Associate (SA) is a temporary position assigned to work in person before, during and/or after a disaster event this hurricane/wildfire season. Volunteers in this role provide assistance and healthcare to shelter residents as needed.

Time Commitment:

Hours vary depending on meetings, training sessions, and/or responses at the local chapter.

Qualifications:

Active and unencumbered licensure in at least one of the following:

A Disaster Assessment Service Associate conducts field collection of damage assessment information and conducts damage assessment review and interpretation for Individual Assistance Providers (IAPs). This includes the collection and recording of impact and damage data and supporting Recovery Services with data interpretation.

Regional responses: Shift work determined by the scale of the relief operation; a minimum requirement of 8-12 hours per day during the disaster relief operation for multiple, consecutive days.

Beyond Regional responses: 12-14 hour days for extended periods depending on distance. Time and length of commitment will vary by operation.
