Description

Are you a licensed cosmetologist or barber looking for a meaningful way to give back? Harbor Hospice is seeking a kind-hearted professional to provide basic hair care services to our patients in Baytown. Help our patients look and feel their best during a difficult time.

Description: There is a unique power in a fresh haircut or a simple style—it restores a sense of self and provides a moment of normalcy and pampering for those facing terminal illness. We are looking for a Licensed Hairdresser or Barber to join our volunteer team and provide "bedside" or in-facility salon services.

What you’ll do:

  • Basic Hair Care: Provide simple cuts, trims, washes, or styling for hospice patients in their homes or local care facilities.

  • Boost Morale: Offer a gentle touch and a listening ear, helping patients feel refreshed and dignified.

  • Flexible Appointments: We work entirely around your professional chair schedule. Even one morning a month makes a huge difference.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Direct Impact: You’ll see the immediate joy and comfort your skills bring to patients and their grateful families.

  • Professional Fulfillment: Use your license to serve the community in a way that goes beyond the traditional salon setting.

  • Join a Local Network: Become part of our Baytown volunteer family, alongside retirees, professionals, and students from Lee College and UHCL.

Requirements:

  • Valid Texas Cosmetology or Barber License.

  • Portability: Ability to travel to patient locations in the Baytown area (basic supplies can be discussed).

  • Must pass a background check and drug screen (at no cost to you).

  • A compassionate, patient-centered attitude.
