Volunteers are needed to support disaster recovery efforts. This may include helping homeowners clean out their homes after flooding or restoring the homes to make them safe, sanitary and secure. United Way has a special initiative call BACC DR:
Baytown Area & Chambers County Disaster Recovery’s (BACC-DR) mission is to assist in identifying the unmet needs of those affected by the Hurricane Harvey and other future disasters, and to coordinate access to resources that would provide relief.
BACC-DR will strive to: 1) Provide coordinated management of long-term recovery to the disaster, 2) Provide additional long-term assistance to individuals affected by the disaster who do not have adequate personal resources for unmet needs as result of the disaster, and 3) Advocate for ongoing preparedness within the community and for cooperation with faith-based, governmental and community agencies active in disaster response.
