Description

Volunteer Route Stewards Needed for Little Free Libraries

We’re looking for a group of committed volunteers to help us keep our Little Free Libraries clean, organized, and stocked with great books for the community.

We currently maintain 31 Little Free Libraries across 5 routes, and our Route Stewards are vital to the success of this program.

Volunteers help by checking libraries on their assigned route, tidying up as needed, and ensuring books are available for readers of all ages.

If you enjoy giving back, love books, and want to make a meaningful local impact, we’d love to have you join our team!

Please arrive at the United Way office for Check in and Supplies

  • Upon arrival at the library, inspect all books for signs of wear and tear.
  • Replace any damaged books with new copies when necessary.
  • If the library appears low on inventory, refill it with a variety of books to ensure a well-stocked and engaging selection.
  • Dust and wipe down shelves and materials, ensuring the space is clean and well cared for.
  • Confirm that each library has a new and up-to-date survey QR code displayed so visitors can report maintenance needs and request book genres.
  • Properly dispose of any books that cannot be salvaged or reused
