Make a difference in your community this MLK Day of Service by volunteering with United Way at Ashbel Smith Elementary School!
Join us as we work together to create more shaded areas for students to enjoy during hot, sunny days. Volunteers will help plant trees around the perimeter of the school’s playground, helping provide much-needed shade and enhance the outdoor space for students.
In total, 15 trees will be planted during the project. Volunteers will be organized into small teams, with each team planting three trees. A team lead will be assigned to every group to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable experience for everyone. All planting materials will be provided, along with a United Way volunteer T-shirt, which must be worn on the day of service. Breakfast will also be provided for all volunteers.
Please make sure to wear clothing appropriate for the weather and the project, including closed-toe shoes. Come ready to lend a hand, connect with others, and leave a lasting impact on our community.
