Every step matters in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. On Saturday, October 4, join the Alzheimer’s Association and hundreds of neighbors at Bayland Park & Bayland Marina for the annual Baytown Walk to End Alzheimer’s—a powerful community event raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research.

Volunteers are essential to making this event a success! From setting up and cheering on walkers to helping with logistics and participant support, you’ll play a key role in creating an uplifting, seamless experience for everyone involved.

RD Committee volunteers are a dynamic group of community advocates who support United Way’s fundraising and engagement efforts. Volunteers will help expand the organization’s reach by building relationships, raising funds, and representing United Way at key events. This will be a key year as we launch our inaugural United for Good Gala, our new signature fundraising event.


Core Responsibilities
• Attend RD Committee Orientation (Fall).

• Help identify and engage new contacts within your networks.

Volunteer: Disaster Recovery

Baytown and Chambers County Disaster Recovery Team might be on standby, but recruiting volunteers to help support the community when disaster strikes is ongoing. Disasters can hit our community at any time. Whether fires, hurricanes, flooding, or any other kind of disaster, we need volunteers ready to mobilize when the need arises. Volunteers will be called upon when disaster strikes in our area. If you are interested in volunteering to support the disaster recovery respondents, please sign up here.  

You will be contacted, if volunteers are needed for any projects related to disaster recovery. Duties may include providing immediate shelter protection (tarps), trash/debris clean up, mucking & gutting of homes, packing assistance, and other activities as determined by needs of the community. We are always in need of volunteers who can speak Spanish.
