Volunteering with United Way is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in your community. With a wide range of programs and initiatives, United Way provides volunteers with the flexibility to choose causes that they are passionate about and make a meaningful difference. Whether it's through working with Little Free Libraries like Harvey, or assembling homeless outreach bags, volunteering with United Way can help address critical community needs and improve the lives of those in need.

Harvey Oyler has been volunteering with United Way for the past 7 years. He got started with Little Free Libraries when he saw a need request from United Way in an email and decided to respond. As a volunteer, his favorite thing about Little Free Libraries is seeing an empty library because he knows kids are getting books and reading more.

Harvey is motivated to give back to the community with United Way because he didn't have time for volunteer work when he was working. During retirement, he has enjoyed volunteering to keep his mind sharp and help out with community needs. He encourages others who are thinking of volunteering to give it a try because it is very satisfying knowing that you are helping someone fill a gap in their life.

Harvey's dedication to volunteering with Little Free Libraries through United Way is making a difference in the lives of children in his community. His willingness to respond to a need request has turned into a fulfilling and rewarding volunteer opportunity. His message to others is clear: volunteering is not only good for the community, but it's also good for the volunteer, providing a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

By joining forces with United Way, volunteers can collaborate with like-minded individuals, build new skills, and create a lasting legacy of change. So, if you're thinking about volunteering, consider United Way and help create a brighter future for your community.
