Who We Are

Mission Statement:
As an extended ministry of Church Women
United in Baytown, the Child Care Center seeks
to be a witness of the church’s love and concern
for children by responding to the physical and emotional
needs as well as the security of youngsters in a setting
that encourages positive learning and growth experience.

More Info:
We help low income students and working families with child care by providing scholarships in order to significantly reduce the amount the parent pays. We also provide a top notch curriculum (Frog Street) that ensures these children are ready for kindergarten.

We are affiliated with Lee College, Texas Workforce, United Way and Collaborative for Children, Center of Excellence and Babies in Baytown.
Our center has been operating for more than 75 years we relocated from a house that was licensed for 20 children to our current location 21 years ago. We are now licensed for 100.

Our United Way Grant helps provide scholarships for some of our children. To apply for this grant the parents have to be working or going to school and we ask for their schedule, 4 check stubs and W2 to determine where they fall in the sliding scale The portion the parent pays can go as low as $40.00 a week per child. With United Way's help, we are able to help many more low income students and families.

With your help volunteering, we can help many more!

What We Do

We are licensed for 100 children and currently have 85 children enrolled.
Lee College provides the Perkins Grant that pays for some Lee College student’s children's' child care at our center.

In the classrooms we have a full time lead teacher and a helper. Our curriculum consists of having weekly themes, writing activity and Spanish as a second language. Our goal is to prepare our children for kindergarten when they leave our center.

We have 5 classrooms: Infants 6 weeks-14 months, 1's, 2's, 3's and 4 and 5's.

Volunteers can:

Collect items we need at the center, such as Kleenex, diapers in all sizes, formula, copy paper, crayons, washable markers, washable paints, construction paper, pencils and art and craft supplies.
(Due to state licensing we are not allowed to accept used toys, books, clothing etc.)

Visit to read a book or any fun learning activity that is age appropriate.

Water and/or weed our children's vegetable gardens.

Adding mulch to our playgrounds.

Help from home with our annual fundraiser. (Get the word out on social media & answer questions from potential donors)
