What We Do
BAHS offers two homeless shelter programs for low-income clients in the East Harris County, Baytown, Chambers County and Liberty County area. BAHS operates three programs, with two serving as shelter, as well as the Employment Services Program.
The Emergency Shelter houses single men, women and single mothers with young children. The property includes separate men's and women's dormitories for the safety and privacy of our residents. The Britton-Fuller Center houses intact families, including couples, parents with children, as well as single fathers and mothers coming to shelter with order children. Clients are initially allowed to stay for (28) days. A client or family may stay up to (90) days at the discretion of the case management team.
BAHS provides pre-employment, post-employment, job readiness, employment maintenance, casework and classes for current and former clients. "Real-world" volunteers donate their time to conduct mock interviews, present life skills classes and assist with post-employment career counseling.
